But the wing is still a valid addition, whether you think it is or not. With 87 hp the car takes forever to get back up to speed, so the only winning strategy is to maintain speed to the extent possible around corners. A big wing, and downforce a the front, will allow the car to corner at high speeds. I shouldn't have to explain this. Aerodynamic effects become non-zero above 40 mph or so, and grow in importance above that. Aero helps even on an autoX course, 40-70mph, hence why Solo II rules regulate aero so much. People often mistakenly think a wing "only works at speeds above 200 mph" or some crap. I have even heard a physicist make that claim (he was not a very bright physicist). People are just prejudiced against aero, unless the underlying car cost > $80,000 or so.
